Celebration & Screening April 27, 2025

Kailash Fellowship hosted a screening at Dhumatala Temple in Point Richmond, CA, of Journey to Golok: Takyak Pilgrimage, preceded by a community celebration with a Tibetan-inspired lunch and momos. We are so thankful to the volunteers who made this event possible!

Before the film, Anam Tubten spoke about the inspiration for the Kailash Fellowship, and what it means to follow in the footsteps of these great masters:

“Symbolically, the pilgrims’ journey was done on behalf of us. They were revisiting and reconnecting with the roots of our spiritual dharma family. Each family has roots. In the same way, we have dharmic roots, and I felt they went there to trace back the sacred roots of our family. We are all part of that dharma family.

They followed closely in the footsteps of Dudjom Lingpa, visiting the region where he practiced, the monastery he established, and his cave where he spent many years and wrote many texts. They did Chöd practice and offered a feast there. The pilgrims then did retreat at Takyak Hermitage, where Anam Chatralwa spent his lifetime as a quilt hermit, refusing to wear any animal products at a high altitude of around 13,000 feet.

Their journey inspired me to create this new Kailash Foundation and Fellowship that is dedicated to bringing Dudjom Lingpa’s teachings more into the modern Western world and beyond.”
