Fellowship

Our fellowship is inspired by the spiritual journey of life-long hermit Anam Chatralwa. As a Nyingma adept and student of Dudjom Lingpa, he is our spiritual ancestor who walked the path of awakening with the guidance of this profound master. We share dharma lineage roots, and hold the intention to embody Anam Chatralwa’s unwavering commitment to the path and his teacher, and to cultivate love, compassion and wisdom throughout our lives.
Anam Chatralwa was advised to make a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash by his guru, Dudjom Lingpa. However, his own devotees implored him not to leave on this arduous journey. He was never able to go there physically. Instead, he spent his whole life practicing Dharma at the Takyak Hermitage. His pilgrimage became an internal one. Since this sacred mountain ultimately represents the Buddha mind within, and the richness and perfection of our true nature, we can each follow his example.

The mission of our fellowship is to support the Takyak hermitage and Anam Chatralwa stupa in Tibet, to provide opportunities to practice the teachings of Dudjom Lingpa, establish hermitages around the world, hold retreats, translate and publish sacred teachings, and support solo retreatants. Through these efforts, we can all make an inner pilgrimage to the true Mount Kailash–the awakened state of our mind–and become the bridge that keeps an auspicious connection with our dharma roots flourishing.
