Screening & Reception November 2025

Journey to Golok: Takyak Pilgrimage, screened in Philadelphia in November, 2025, with Rinpoche introducing the night with a meditation and the invitation to make an inner pilgrimage while watching together. The one-hour documentary follows four students on a pilgrimage to Eastern Tibet to explore the roots of the Dudjom Lingpa lineage and Anam Thubten’s spiritual home. Thank you to The Wisdom Seat and Sunisa Manning of Heart Sangha for partnering to make this event happen.

While the video takes us on an outer pilgrimage, it also underscores that the true pilgrimage is always an inner one, the journey to meet the buddha within. As the narration says:

Dudjom Lingpa had made a cryptic prediction: that if Anam Chatralwa should make a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash, he would achieve a rainbow body and benefit many people. Kailash being so far away, this was like suggesting an impossible journey in those days, from which one would never return. Anam Chatralwa’s disciples knew that, and convinced him not to go. Anam Thubten suggests then that Mount Kailash is perhaps not a physical place, but can be seen as the pristine nature of mind, available everywhere.

Stay tuned for the next opportunity to Journey to Golok with us in 2026.
